My 엄마 blessed us through her fulfilled life as a real-life Superwoman. Even through serious health problems as an immigrant parent, she adapted to a new world and worked relentlessly to care for our family while spreading her selfless love and brightness to everyone around her. Through her loving lessons in life, art, and spirituality, she molded me into the person I am now, including both the serious and the seriously weird. I will always treasure the glowing smiles and hugs she greeted me with, even if I’d only been gone for a few hours.
Throughout her life she filled many roles both inside and outside the family - homemaker, wife, mother, sister, teacher, artist, and member of the loving family of Open Door Church. In each and every one of them, she invested her full love and devotion. As an accomplished woman who made a career of her passion, she inspires me to achieve greatness and show kindness to everyone around me. Her endless capacity to love and inspire left a positive impact on countless lives, from her family to her students, and I hope her seeds of affection can flourish through us to make our world a better place.
